I plan to show you the amazing landscapes and villages of the Verdon. Ideally, we have to leave Marseille at 9:00 maximum.
Morning
The nearest village called Valensole is at one hour and twenty minutes by car from Marseille. It is lost in the middle of several lavander fields and almond trees, which blossom during one month, between the 15th June to the 15th July. We will see if we are lucky to see some purple lavander. The charming village Valensole is nestling between the mountains of the Alpes.
Afternoon
I propose then to continue by car towards the next village called Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, well known for their faiencerie. The village is completely untouched and peaceful. Some beautiful short hiking are possible to discover the landscapes around the areas. I suggest to take lunch (picnic) in the village.
Then I would like to show you the bridge of the Galetas which is above the lake (see picture of the brige below from my kayak).
Next step consists to see the Verdon gorges from the peaks road (by car) and go back to Marseille.
Evening
There is a street food festival in Marseille near the cathedrale La Major. More than 30 restaurants will come to share their Mediterranean food. There will be also a music group, called "Borderline DJ's & Virgo Music". It is the place to be to dinner together.
