The Great Halls of the Old Port

In the heart of downtown Marseille, on the Cours d'Estienne d'Orves, the Great Halls of the Old Port opened their doors in July 2022. More than 2,000m² inside or on the terrace, dedicated to the Mediterranean art of living with a dozen stands and a central bar. Through a journey of the senses, you can taste Lebanese, Spanish, Italian or Marseille cuisine.

One-way trip to Spain with the restaurant La Cave à Jambon with Spanish tapas, under the sharp hands of Flore Avier and Roger De La Pena, already at the head of the Cave à Jambon located in rue Sainte in Marseilles.

The 500 degree Neapolitan pizza is delicious. Personally, I love "mortadella" with pistachio pesto, stracciatella and mortadella! If you want to know more, chef Olivier Poizat tells more about his website.

If you are looking for gourmet sandwiches, head to Gamelle with fresh, quality products, with seasoned meats and marinated vegetables. The specialty is the "Joey" meatball sandwich!

No need to go very far to taste seafood, Coquillages Claude offers many varied shellfish platters, opened on site and ready to be tasted.

Insalata, antipasti, mozzarella, pasta and dolce... All the delicacies of Italian cuisine can be found at Nonna Mina!

If you want to drink good cocktails, head to the Bar Central at the counter or Le Canon du Vieux Port which offers more than 500 references in wines and spirits.

In the center of Les Halles, Le Grill des Halles offers burgers, homemade buns and fries with cheddar cheese and bacon... delicious for a good lunch break! For carnivores, there are also beautiful pieces of French meat.

For dessert, don't hesitate to go to La Gourmande, an ice cream parlor that offers homemade sorbets and colorful flavored desserts.

Located on the Corniche in Marseille, the restaurant La Vallée du Liban has a stand in Les Halles. It offers the famous mezes, falafels and other Lebanese specialties.

A word to vegetarians, La Serre offers balanced market cuisine with, for example, homemade focaccia, sun-dried tomato pesto, roasted vegetables, ricotta with basil, zucchini fritters with mint..

La Rôtisserie offers cuts of French meat with a particular type of cooking: low temperature + rotisserie! Their specialty is chicken flavored with thyme, saffron and citrus. The menu also features skewers, 3 sandwiches, a lamb shoulder taco, the Marseille hot dog with local “sôcisse” or the Caesar version club sandwich.

In addition to the stalls to delight us, the Grandes Halles du Vieux-Port will also offer, on the other side of the Cours d'Estienne d'Orves, a local producers' market with 11 stalls including a primeur, an organic bakery, a traditional butcher, a Corsican delicatessen, a Provençal brewer and a local cheese dairy.
