The calanques of Cassis by canoe

One of the most beautiful ways to discover the creeks of Cassis is to go there by canoe. If you want to rent one, I advise you to get closer to the CSLN nautical center on Cassis beach. If you already own a canoe, I suggest you park at the parking lotpresqu'île and inflate it to these GPS coordinates for a launch. This is the hold on the port of the calanque of Port-Miou. Once parked, go down to the restaurants near the tennis courts, walk along them, leaving them on your right and approach the sea. You can access the slipway by a path that passes under a small tunnel, after passing a wooden barrier. Don't forget to take hats, sunscreen and plenty of water. Count at least 2L per person in summer.

Whether you leave from the calanque of Port-Miou or from Cassis beach, head towards the calanque of Port Pin, along the coast. To hang your canoe, cables are stretched along the rock on the right side, roughly in the middle of the calanque on arrival. In case of people, it is very pleasant to jump into the sea from your canoe. Take your mask and snorkel and enjoy the seabed in transparent water.

Get back on your canoe, now head for the Calanque of En Vau, the big cyan blue canyon carved into the mountains. Go back, aiming for the point on the right, and take the first right. You will find many places to hang your canoe on the rocks, or else on cables at the end on the left, near the pebble beach.

A small cave on the right in the canyon of the calanque of En Vau.

Take the time to swim in this beautiful cove. The photo below shows a panoramic view from the top of the calanque. Allow 45 minutes to get back to Port-Miou slipway and 1h45 to get back to Cassis beach from En Vau calanque.

If you want to take a walk in the calanque of Port-Miou between the sailboats, you can, but it is forbidden to swim there. I don't recommend it anyway, it's not very pleasant in the water of a port ;)

I personally bought the ITIWIT 2-seater decathlon canoe, this model. I strongly recommend it, there is space, the inflatable chairs are raised by an inflatable high-pressure bottom as well. In 3 years I've never had a puncture problem with it.
