I suggest an easy walk to admire the sea, the islands and Marseille. Park at the Rouet car park, here. Starting from Rouet beach, the walk takes you to the Notre-Dame-du-Rouet chapel where you will have an excellent view from above, then to the salt water cove where you can swim.
The path is simple: follow the private road to the left of the Rouet car park which runs along the beach and then climb up to the Notre Dame du Rouet chapel. Enjoy the landscapes that the view offers.
At the top, leave the road following the path on the left (sign for salt water). Go through the large green gate and down the small stairs on the right. The path runs along the railway line. Arriving near the bridge, go down the large stairs to reach the calanque. The calanque des Eaux Salées owes its name to its brackish spring. Its limpid waters bathe in harmony the jagged relief of the Blue Coast. The medium-sized calanque is open to the sea and has a beach made up of large polished pebbles. The Eaux Salées viaduct (centennial and listed) overlooks this privileged place for diving and sea kayaking. Take the same route as on the outward journey.
