Perched on the 5th floor of the Hôtel Hermes on the old port, the Hermes rooftop offers one of the most beautiful views of Marseille. Open Tuesday to Saturday from April to September from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., the bar offers a menu of very appetizing tapas and cocktails.
If you are 2-3, aim for 7 p.m. maximum if you want a table by the view (as in the photos), after that the bar is quickly taken over by the Marseillais. If you come in larger numbers, there are larger tables on the roof terrace, which are also very pleasant.
And if you're a little cold, don't hesitate to ask for plaids at the bar ;)
The view is absolutely incredible, from the Panier district, the sunset gives magnificent golden colors to the Marseille buildings and the Bonne Mère.
The tapas menu is very good, we choose the names of districts of Marseille. The charcuterie and cheese platter at €20 is very well served, there is even a sheep's cheese with truffle... The panisses and the brousse with honey are also excellent.
As for the cocktails, we have the right to Marseille expressions. I tasted the tarpin, gin and lychee, very fresh when it's hot, and the esquiché, more gourmet and sweet with rosé lillet, grapefruit and rose.
