It is in a former haberdashery converted into a bright room with an open kitchen and a terrace overlooking the bustling Noailles district that the Parisian trio Harry Cummins, Laura Vidal and Julia Mitton have taken up residence, with the aim of creating an essential Marseille spot for bistro/gastronomic cuisine.

Harry is an English chef who draws inspiration from the countries he has visited. Laura is a passionate Quebecois sommelier, the first woman in 50 years to be awarded the Millau Guide's Best Sommelier in 2020. Canadian Julia is in charge of restaurant management, contributing to the growth of this wonderful trio's business.

I went to La Mercerie for dinner. The five-course menu, offered by Harry, costs €65. Wine pairings are available for €40, all selected by Laura. The restaurant also offers a €38 starter/main course/dessert lunch menu. The dining room has a very relaxed atmosphere, with an industrial setting and an open kitchen that immediately makes you want to talk to the chefs. The dishes are rich in flavors, with bold and delicious combinations.

If you are visiting the center of Marseille, don't hesitate to stop at this beautiful, original and relaxed restaurant.
