This tapas and cocktail bar is a green extension of the Sepia gourmet restaurant located in the heart of the Puget hill garden. In a bucolic decor, the terrace with marine and woody codes offers tapas to share and delicious cocktails made by the very friendly bartender Lucien. With a magnificent view of the many sunsets beyond the old port, the Julis is one of the most popular spots in Marseille. Do not forget to book via their website.
The menu is very good value for money, count between €6 and €12 for tapas, €5 for desserts and between €11 and €13 for cocktails. The dishes are very varied, I tasted a delicious sashimi of Pelamide (bonito type fish) flavored with dashi vinegar, a slice of zucchini coriander and mozzarella di buffala, a perfect egg with white asparagus and chilli. The cocktails are original and very well dosed, in the photos below a first cocktail based on tequila, passion fruit and apricot liqueur and a second one based on tequila and grapefruit. For dessert, I tasted a delicious bowl of roasted apricots and vanilla flavored fruit caramel.
In front of the Julis and the Sepia, below, lies a shaded terrace space out of sight. A vegetable garden is transformed for a moment into a green haven that belongs to us. The Julis offers us a corner of the garden to taste the tapas and cocktails menu.
