The Hippie Chic Café offers fusion cuisine with a mix of European and Asian dishes on the menu. Chef Christopher and waiters Nono and Alane welcome you in a good mood to make your meal a very pleasant culinary break.
The restaurant is ideally located between La Major cathedral and the Docks, not far from the MUCEM and the Cosquer adventure as well, it's a perfect stop for a day in this very popular area of Marseille
The atmosphere of the interior room is half chill/hippie half chic with graffiti on the walls and vegetation hanging from the ceiling. The restaurant also has a shaded terrace under trees and umbrellas, very pleasant when the sun is beating down outside.
I advise you to take the beef tartare or tataki with Thai flavors, both flavored with lemongrass, soy, ginger, sesame oil, mango, spring onion and lime. The "bobo dog" also has its effect with falafels and a yogurt sauce.
The burger of the moment changes according to the seasons and the products that Christopher chooses. The bread and fries are homemade, the products are fresh and the dishes are well prepared. The hippie-style cordon bleu, with its chicken wrapped in pancetta and the gorgonzola flowing over a pesto sauce, could also satisfy some discerning gourmets. For dessert, we alternate between French and Italian specialties with a panna cotta with red fruits, a hazelnut brownie, roasted strawberries or even a tatin-style pear tart.
