For this day, I will take you on a 5.2 km (2 hour) hike in the Calanque de Marseille national park, starting from the Luminy campus barrier towards the small port and the Morgiou cove. You can park in the campus car park. Note that there is a drinking water fountain on the latter, a few meters before the barrier. Take your best walking shoes, a cap or hat, plenty of water if it's hot, sunscreen, your picnic, your swimsuit and your snorkel mask to enjoy the blue water and the depths sailors from the cove.
The overall difficulty of the hike I am offering you is average. Allow 1 hour to go downhill, 1 hour back to go back up. First follow the dotted yellow markings on an easy path between trees and signs towards Morgiou. Then, at the intersection between two paths, take the yellow path on the right. The trail here is a little trickier with some passages through scree and steep rocks on the way down. You will finally arrive at the road which leads to the village of Morgiou, easy and marked in red.
Note, at the intersection between the two trails, if you take the yellow dotted path on the left the hike will be shorter but harder, including a passage with a chain.
Below is the photo of the intersection between the two trails marked yellow on the right (to be taken) and yellow dotted on the left, and the photo of the change in markings in red towards the Morgiou road.
The hike is magnificent, first in the mountains of the park with high viewpoints, then in the village and port of Morgiou. Out of season, it is possible to be alone on the trails.
Don't hesitate to walk to the end of the port, you will see the cove in a recess opposite. Walk around the rocks to get there.
Once in the water, go along the rocks with a snorkel mask, the fish like to hide there to feed. In particular, we see a lot of sea bream, sea bream, sea bream and starfish.
For the return take the same path as on the way out.
