Hike to Pointe de Figuerolles - medium/difficult

I suggest a beautiful 1h30 hike from the port of La Vesse to the tip of Figuerolles on the Côte Bleue (not to be confused with the Calanque de Figuerolles in La Ciotat). The hike takes place on the customs officers' path between points 67 and 69 and follows blue markings.

By car, you will need to park in the visitor parking lot at the entrance to the Route de la Vesse at this point with GPS coordinates . Then, go down the road on foot to the village, the port and the Calanque de la Vesse which are located below a railway viaduct of six arches 20 meters high.

Take the customs path to the left of the viaduct and follow the coast to go around the rock and reach the cove at Pointe de Figuerolles. The hike is not long but some sections are difficult, including a rope to climb a rock in one place. Access to the cove is also quite steep and steep, take good walking shoes to avoid slipping.

The view throughout the hike is magnificent, it offers a panorama of the sea and Marseille, with the islands of Frioul and Goudes.

On the path, metal structures of old cannons are still posted, a sign of protection of the coast during wars. A little after the tip of Figuerolles there is also a fort, a French military battery built in the years 1880-1890.

Sometimes certain CMA-CGM maritime transport liners depart from the port of Marseille and decorate the blue landscapes with their colorful containers.

Don't forget your mask and snorkel if you swim in the cove at Pointe de Figuerolles, if there is not much wind you will easily be able to observe schools of saupes, gray-green fish with yellow bands, or even octopuses under the pebbles.

To return, take the same path as on the way out, following the blue markings.
