Cédrat

At lunchtime, Maëlyss Vultaggio sets up shop at Cédrat, and offers dishes with Italian-Asian influences. Generous, creative and accessible cuisine, for €27 starter/main course/dessert and €23 starter/main course or main course/dessert. In the evening, chef Eric Maillet offers contemporary cuisine with Mediterranean influences and discreet Asian touches, reminiscent of his travels in the Far East. Every day, he composes a menu in 3, 5 or 6 stages, announced on the blackboard according to the market and arrivals. I personally tasted the menu at 45€ in 3 stages, with the possibility of adding cheese for 7€ more.

The setting is very friendly, inside and out thanks to a green patio, covered by a huge fig tree.

Chef Eric Maillet selects and works with quality, local and seasonal products. I went there on a summer evening, everything was there, the cool evening air between the leaves of the fig tree, the attentive service by Magali, always smiling, and a very appetizing menu. As a starter, I tasted a sea bream carpaccio with a sauce flavored with strawberry, tarragon and sesame. As a main course, I was intrigued by the combination of beef tataki with cherries and fennel puree.

After the plate of Pelardon, a raw-milk goat cheese, served with a nori condiment, I finished the meal with a textured lemon, absolutely delicious. Lemon was represented in different textures, in lemon curd, in gel, in coulis or in sorbet. Pieces of cookies were reminiscent of lemon cheesecake and brought crunch to the plate.

The chef always offers at least one vegetarian option on the menu. His aubergine, zucchini and sweet potato dish was delicious, seasoned with roasted apricot and a yoghurt sauce and sesame paste.

I advise you to book your table in advance, the restaurant is often full the same evening.
